I find it hard to believe that there isn't a specialist spring maker in the states, here in Christchurch we have a population of approx 400,000 and I know of two companys that make springs as required. I enquired about springs for my coupe which will have to be specially made and the cost will be about NZ$240.00 a pair.
Check to see who makes race car springs in your area!!!

Carrera in the States offer springs in all manner of rates. They are primarily for speedway but can be used for anything. They even list 1200 stuff in their catalogues. Try a supplier to the speedway guys for a list. Carrera springs also come chrome plated and therefore must make your car faster... On the spring cutting issue it's all been pretty much said all ready but I have run them and had no problems , but as a certifier I have been educated in the manner in which cutting a coil spring decreases it's designed strength The maths is mind boggling but cutting 1 coil can load a spring by 30% more and can quickly alter it's safety factor.

I spoke with the Quickor guys Friday at the Portland Swap Meet. They said they can definitely deliver suspension parts for the 1200.

Quickor had one of the best suspension setups 1200s, but he said they don't get much call for them now.

Quickor.

How many coils to cut is relative. Some springs have more coils/height. How hard can it be to figure out what to cut out??? Grab a tape, check all dimensions , cut, cruise.
