DD, You could be right about the vinyl floor post 1978. I still have to finish a bit around the shed before I can do anything to it. I might just leave it as it is, or maybe just a set of alloys and lowered slightly.
I still have the other ute with the missing rear tray to use as a project car.

The ute is pulling the chicks already, hey Flatto. Thanks for posting the link for this too!! It was only 5 mins drive from home.

Congratulations. A nice example of an original condition ute.

Did utes come in more than one trim in your country? In Japan after 1978 they only came in one trim, and all came with vinyl floor mats. Radio was optional.

And quite a large family now it seems!

Looks like it was a great buy though, and good to see it's gone to a good home

Care to share anymore pics and future plans?

I couldn't help myself. Just had to add to the family! It's fairly original. It was from a deceased estate. It has had a repair down the LH side, a couple of small dents repaired. The drivers side seat base has been re trimmed. It's a low spec ute, with vinyl floor coverings. It doesn't even have a radio. The engine bay is very clean and original. I think the K's are right.

No price on the ad and I haven't bothered to call since I'm not in the market.

I'd be curious to know if this is one of those situations where the owner doesn't realise it's worth good money. Or the opposite where the owner thinks it's 'rare' and worth twice what anyone is willing to pay.

That's the only seat I've ever seen in a stock 1200 Australian ute, but I've never owned a ute, so I could be wrong.
