As I posted recently my mid-close 56 series 4 speed shredded 3rd, the cluster gear was damaged. I've picked up a comple ultra close 4 speed and now I'm looking to put together a spare tranny. I have two spare sets of U/C mainshaft gear but no clusters and I have feelers out for UC clusters. I also have an extra set of mid close mainshaft gears but both clusters I have have damaged 3rd gear. So my question is as any one ever had a cluster gear repaired? I do know it's possible to cut and weld two together but as both have the same gear damaged that won't work. Any feed back would be welcome.

In SCCA they used to repair them. Apparently the gear from one counter can be grafted onto another. There are also specialised gear shops that can do it.
