Stupid? Those clever Nissan design engineers are crazy like a fox. In Europe, the Juke is Nissan's second best-selling car. In USA, it has sold more copies per year than the 1200 did over three years. It's been very successful.
Now if they would just paint it pastel colors with 13" wheels, it would be perfect.

some of my Jp car buddies here also consider bad JDM cars in japlish as bakka dasain which is bakka for stupid, dasai for daggy and design added as an N after dasai.
Here is Nissans latest local bakka dasaign flop which is prob an attempt from Nissan to challenge Toytoa Rav http://www.automotiveaddicts.com/wp-c ... 013-nissan-juke-nismo.jpg ![]()

Its not Aussie style, plenty of Aussies do their own 1200 in very good taste for race, street and show. Maybe BDM Bogan or Butcher domestic market. I can say more of the Aussie 1200s Ive seen from members here and in real life Ive met are very good an more than worthy of ownership by the diehards.
DD posted it up yourself not the owner, he never made an effort to advertise here. If it was an ad by the owner I would not dare post on it and totally disrespectful. Im biased to 1Ks but regardless you cant compare Gav your 1K to this thing in finish or balance - your era choices are different but balanced. Yet for me to see the destruction of a dash like that hurts. If its an all out race car yes but for a street or show piece the butchery irritates severely.

I agree with you gav, it is poor taste to diss another guy's 1200, especially one as nice as that ... So I moved the original advert info to new thread.
The ute is nicer than 95% of US style mods. It seems like the ones seen on the Web include the very best so you might get a certain stereoptyped impression, most however are just daily drivers with a variety of personal changes. It's been frustrating to me that most US members here do not post pics of their car, or only one/two pics. I love to see all 1200s, show-car quality of not -- post your photos of 1200s!

The classifieds section is hardly the place for this rubbish. I feel like you guys have posted this up just to through $hit at this guy. Fact is, with a new set of wheels and half a days work, this thing would be a beast. To be honest, who doesn't want to tinker with their new datto anyway.
I also have spent some time in Japan and I fitted some modern seats, modern race pack dash and modern engine to my KB10 mustang and I still love it everytime I sit down and go for a drive. The mods should pull this down and let this guy have a fair go. Good luck with the sale.

Achieving balance is difficult when someone goes all out to make something as far away as the local market designers intended. Seems you have yet to understand butch vs acceptable so not too far from the fluoro dash days.

Cool - so we all seem to generally agree
JDM is "inspired" by all the other markets of the world So JDM implies a mixture of Euro and USA and whatever else, and each is probably a mix of each other certainly in today's age. But wait, didn't you say that a mix of two styles is a bad thing? - damn, i'm confused again... that means the cars/style you love is bad!?

Thanks Flatto make sure you push for a final holden tory :)
Jp still make the best photo copiers as well :) chevelle / Nova are other examples of what pretty much all car designers of that era had in mind of what they thought the market wanted later many thought the market wanted wedge shapes followed by boxes. ![]() I still think out of all those muscle cars the 1200 coupe is a gem, nothing overstated and timeless.
