Datsun 1200 Ute Project Begining

hey guys, i have been given a datsun 1200, has a fair bit of rust, eg around the tub ect. was thinking about cutting the tub off and making it a tray back, just curious if anyone knows whats involved in doing this, and is it legal,
also after is it legal to put a ca18det in it. thanks guys,.

a member on here did it years ago, i cant remmeber the name, but its possible and there should be plenty of pics on this site
ca18det is easily engineerable, depending on what state your in as to how much that might cost - VIC $850

Beginning is two Ns. I would know. Hehehe.
I would check with your state to see what the limitations are. I believe engine size and turbo depends on car weight (unless im wrong) and you are taking alot of weight out of the ute which may, i say may, reduce the size of your legal engine/turbo
