He hasn't signed on in 11 months, so emailing him will probably be more effective.

the winged section is much easier to do with the Steel sump
Im sure all other markets had steel its just Soufrika? Also I guess Nissan Engineering planned for either the A15 for the future of FWD so put those provisions just in case. Pity they didnt keep rolling with it and then a stroker version like Toyota did with the K series.

As far as i've seen, all the FWD a-series sumps were alloy in all countries.
Nissan didn't need to keep rolling with FWD A-series as they created the superior CA-series (NAPS-X), the trendy E-series and the efficent GA-series.

Hmmm... that photo of the alloy bulge pan was from a Tasmania Pulsar.
I've never seen a pic of steel FWD sumps?

I put a A-14 into a 1957 MGA and am not putting one into a , unfinished , 1960 Morris Minor.. The MG has the dog leg 5sp in it and I just hate it...l did not know that 5th gear would be 1 to 1...so now I am looking for two 5sp transmitions that will fit on the A-14's
I don't know what I a m looking for as I am not all that smart on swapping parts... I have own several Datsun over the years ,,, I know they will run good for a long time. I live in wheat country and the land is flat... I like to run as fast as I can.. that's why I need a 5sp... Does anyone know what trans will fit my A-14? ' Merry Christmas.........

For gearboxes you could use the 60a overdrive 5 speed if you can find one, they should be more common than the dogleg in every market. Another option is adapting a Toyota box like the 3t or a project I'm working on, the w57/58 mated to an a series auto bell housing.

That's already a 60A five-speed.
The 4-speed is faster. Quicker accelerating, with same top speed. But the 5-speed is quieter, with better fuel economy. You can view topic.
