The ports are smaller, flow less air. And you lose about 1% because they are a non-quench head.
* H89: 82 hp stock @ 6000 rpm * H62: 75 hp stock @ 6000 rpm The H62 (1974 A13 head) will presumably make more torque at low RPMs (say 2000-3000 rpm). So for an A12 may be better for in-town driving than A14 head, yet with more pep on the highway than a standard A12 head.
