Is it a squeaking sound?

Hmmm

I would jack up the left wheel, and then spin it by hand.
Then jack the right wheel and spin it. If one is not as smooth as the other, suspect the bearings.

Hi,

When you say noise, you mean in around the steering wheel and column?

Or the front wheels?

From your first post, I'm thinking perhaps the noise is coming from turn signal switch mechanism, the spring contact that rubs on the back of steering wheel brass ring.
This is the piece that makes the horn circuit complete to the button.

Worth a look there maybe???

Glad to hear it.

Possibly a branch got stuck in the steering linkage, then later fell off the car.

I know the squeak, mine squeaked for years. Never did figure out how to get rid of the squeak!
