I'm currently doing a strut conversion on my 1200 ute using the pulsar front struts adjustable coil overs and cambetops on the rear I have a shortened r31 diff with reset leaf springs ....

Any of you guys have the same set up or similar ? If so what sought of wheels are you using or what sought of wheels can you run with this set up ? I would like to change my current wheels 14' x6 all round to 15' x 6 on the front and 15' x 7 on the rears and still be able to have them certified by the engineer

Cheers

The good news is that since you are still using 1200 struts, you have the widest range of wheel size available (some strut swaps limit the width of the wheel by forcing a wider track). You can use the same size wheels as non-modified struts. Lowering the 1200 limits the tyre sizes that will fit inside/under the bodywork, but it doesnt change which wheel sizes will fit. You might think that smaller diameter aftermarket coilovers will allow bigger tires, but room for turning is still the key factor. The small diameter springs do allow you to pull the strut tops in further for more negative camber, which provides a little more room for wide tires (at the expense of tire wear because the camber is so far off -- but my it looks good!)

If your R31 rear axle assembly has been shortened to the same width as a stock 1200 unit, then you can still use the same range of wheels

On the rear, 7" wide wheels fit no worries

Sizing tires for the rear is easy, because the tires don't steer, there is no risk of rubbing as you steer. You can fit 205-width tires by using a +30 offset wheel. That offset will keep the tire centered in the wheelwell, and won't hit the spring on the inside nor the bodywork on the outside

Wider tires can be used by fitting flares. Flares also allow more "dish" (negative offset) of the wheel, even though the dish pushes the wheel to the outside, the fender will still cover the tires

With 15" wheels you'll need to choose a small tires. For example 205/50R15 are 1.3 inches taller than stock, therefore will raise your 1200 -- so i would not recommend anything taller like 205/60 or 205/70

15" rims (185/55R15 rear tyres)

185/55-R15 are 0.4" (10 mm) shorter than 205/50-R15

Sweet ! Thanks for that man .... So do you think that it won't be too low in the front end if I'm using the pulsar strut combo with the 15' wheels ?

I have no idea, never seen nor heard of anyone using Pulsar struts in a 1200, I figured you were using the common Pulsar inserts in 1200 struts

The 15" tires will have nothing to do with making it too low, too high maybe depending on which 15" tires you select

Sorry mate ! I'm using the Nissan N10 pulsar strut insert with the 1200 ute strut ... I'm more concerned if using this combo with 15' wheels that I won't have the guard clearance between the wheel and guard for certification ?
