If it's a downdraft carb, you generally set the floats perfectly level.

On the other hand, if you're serious about making your carb work better, get a book for the exact type of carb that you have -- it's easier to make them run worse than run better. The library can probably get the book you want if you're just gonna do it once.

Have to side with Datsun100ATurbo on that book, I've checked weber and delorto's lately with the specs for jetting etc on standard and modified engines and the book was worth it
