R31 with CA18 engine uses 71C standard gearbox. The 71C speedometer sender will fit into a 60-series standard 4-speed (e.g. B310 A14/A15 gearbox)

There are two part to putting an electronic speedo in:
1. Fitting the speedometer into the 1200
2. Fitting the speedo sender into the gearbox

Auto Meter sells various sizes and styles of electronic speedometers

Or, some guys fit an entire S13 cluster into the dash. Not sure if you can fit the Nissan speedometer alone

For the sender, choices include:
* Swap the 56-series 4-speed for a 60-series 4-speed, then unbolt the mechanical speedometer drive and bolt in S13/R31 sender
* Modify the 56-series cable drive to accept the Nissan sender (cut & shut? or machining?) I haven't heard of anyone doing it
