I think that you are being a bit hard on this car to say the least. Apart from not having the high back seats its a pretty honest replica of the real deal- and a really nice example at that.
I think that it is very realistically priced- the going rate for a nice, bog standard 110 (if you were lucky enough to find one ) would be around NZD$8000.
Then it all starts- try pricing up building a decent A15 build complete with sidedraughts and exhaust, 5 speed gearbox and a genuine Nismo LSD. Then theres all the suspension upgrades, wheels, tyres, steering geometry to sort, not to mention the cost of a nice paintjob to get it to the original SSS colours and I think that you will be well over $20000...
Price comparisons, a cobber of mine in Nelson sold a 'tidy' Mk2 Escort Sport earlier this year for $15000 and there were plenty of people climbing over themselves to get it or try buying a 240Z under $30000 and see how you get on, or for that matter any form of decent Datsun 1600.
Cars of this era are really starting to move pricewise and the days of the bargins are well and truly over, although I would hasten to add that it is a very fickle market and can be hard work at times but ultimately these cars are trading.

I just don't see it as a "replica" when all it has is a SSS styled bonnet. Awesome looking car, but 9/10 it's an FJ/CA/SR or rotary-powered 1200 going for that sort of money.

It's fitted out like an SSS, notably with the twin Dellortos and the broad stripes on the bonnet. Looks good and equipped well

SSS replica? I think they'll have a hard time getting 18K.. It's basically just a race-ready A15-converted 1200 sedan with a few extra modifications.
