drove the car for long distance for the 1st time after i restore it.
3.5 hours non stop drive(one way) 80-140km/h. temperature is steady. better fuel economy for long drive compare to my so called fuel saving toyota vios 1.5L. The exhaust was noisy but tolerable.

Glad to hear that it's working well!
We have that car marketed here as the Toyota Yaris. It weights about 200kg more than a B310. The older one (Echo/Soluna/Vios) weighed about the same as B310 and came with VVT-I so I'm surprised it wouldn't best a B310 fuel economy

steering box reliability

hi.
How strong and reliable is the our datsun steering box? During my out station trip, i saw one very good condition steering box. very smooth/quite and 0 play. i thought want to buy and keep it as spare. but the one in my car is 35 years old and still in good condition. Is it worth to spend for it or it will be a spare box forever, if i buy????

The B310 is much stronger than the B110 box
* B110: Type RB41N • B310 A12: Type RB43N • B310 A14/A15: Type BR45L They rarely wear out. The smaller B110 box wears out after about 10 years!

so, i better spend that money for something else. recently there's a B310 for sale in my country. but with stock power steering.. never get a chance to see that...

That would be something to see, take photo if you can. Power steering was not offered in Japan nor in usa

For quiet and free-flowing, use a B310 GX type exhaust * Front resonator achieves high-RPM tuning length * Rear muffler further quiets it down.
