I think those comparisons of weight vs the motorcyle motors aren't like for like. The bike motor weights probably includes the gearbox.

Stick with the transverse leaf spring design. You can get them to work and the weight is as low as you can go.

When Holden and Nissan were sharing their vehicles and power trains were there any Holden motors that could be fitted? I'm thinking of the Astra turbo motors. I've seen Geminis with Toyota SGE turbo motors because the NA version was fitted to the Apollos

ma09ert is perfect but also hard to beat an A12 with mazda miata head or well setup turbo

Dvr1000 where r u located? Will likely be heading down the east coast for a camping trip and will be in Brisbane a few times in the coming months

What is the engine weight of the ma09ert? Wiki shows 112kg, much heavier then the cr13de plus because it's turbo the displacement is multiplied by 1.7 and a restrictor has to be used (size depends on class). It's also only 8 valves and single cam, potentially limiting power/mid range torque depending on cam selection/valve sizing

I think that weight is with the transaxle?

If so could be a contender, will look into it further.
