I have heard many sugestions on puting a 5-speed trans, clearance and mod's very...what is the most popular 5-speed choice with yall and where on the list is BMW? If at all...?

my mate had a 5 speed out of and sunny import and it is really nice little box. he had no problem till he got to the bell housing had to cut stuff

I went with the Toyota Celica 5sp, Dellow in Australia do a conversion kit, I am using the 3t alloy split case gearbox. GREAT for power as I had just the standard 4sp maual, and absolutly smashed 2nd an 3rd gears.

That kit that Dellow do, what do they charge for it? So from standard 4sp, to a fully working 5 spd, how much money are we looking at?

Seeing as you're in the US, the B210 or 1979-1982 '210' B310 is probably the best. It's certainly the easiest, literally a bolt-in if you find the right transmission mount - even stock Datsun driveshaft fits.
