Webbers vs Redline Webbers

Wondering if anyone can help me out.

I'm buying some webbers for my A12 which i will later use in my A14 (when i finally finish rebuilding it)

I'm looking at buying some 40 DCOE twin sidedraft webbers which will cost me $1635 AUD.

Where as the Same type webber from redline is $1300 AUD

Just wondering if there is a big difference in wear&tear/performance

Any info is welcomed!

Redline is a regional distributor of Weber carburetors. They sell genuine Webers and Weber parts

http://www.redlineweber.com

eBay seller may sell genuine or counterfeit Webers

Years ago there was talk about questionable quality of new Webers

* Weber have the trademark "W" stamped into the carburetor and is marked "Made in Spain", made by Magnetti Marelli and sold in USA by Redline, Pierce, and other distributors

* non-Weber produced Weber carburetors. Some of these are made in China and assembled under Weber license in USA, and those have a Weber sticker (outsourced Weber)

* Then there are the counterfeits, that say "Made in Spain" but are not genuine Webers

Some claim the Magnetti Marelli-made Webers are higher quality

D - The website is in a Chinese/Japanese language i don't understand it??

ddgonzal - Appreciate the help but im a little confused with your information as i am a little thick headed with understanding things... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TWIN-40-DC ... 56ff5a:g:VOAAAMXQtUxTeEPI
this is the kit i was planning on buying but i was told that they are not genuine webers, redline makes there own webers with permision from weber, im not sure if this was true or not but my question is that are these good webers and what is the difference between these webers and genuine webers

unfamilia - haha yeah im unsure about quality tbh. i called procarb, they have 30 years exp. in carbs and they said to me there is no difference, infact the casting of redline webers are aparently much beter than genuine webers (this is what he tld me on the phone!).

I've never heard that before. But if they do, that make them genuine. After all, many Nissan parts are made by Aichi, KYB, Takata, Mitsubishi or Hitachi. And they're all Genuine Nissan parts

* Genuine Weber: carbs made by Magnetti-Marelli (FIAT) in Spain
* Genuine Weber: any carb made with name permission of Weber

Some shops selling Magneti-Marelli-made Webers want you to buy from them instead of buying from a different Weber-authorized manufacturer

Now about that eBay listing: From the eBay ad, I don't think they are selling Redline carb. It says "Picture is for Illustration purposes only and may vary in contents or design"

and

"You are currently looking at a Brand New FAJS Replacement DCOE Carburettor package" ... "Please also note these are `aftermarket"

Nowhere in the eBay listing does it say you'll get a Redline carburetor or even a Weber carb, but only "DCOE type Carbs" and "DCOE Replacement FAJS Carburettor package"

OER is reportedly high quality and improved re-design of the old Weber DCOE

Bprojects sells two for $945 USD - buy online from their Web store
less expensive than eBay
http://www.datsun1200.asia/category/select/pid/8836

They also sell venturis and jets
