hi all
i recently got my ute back from the painters and im busily trying to put it all back together but ive run into a problem with the rear brake cylinders. they are standard 1200 ute rear drums and ive bought brand new protex cylinders. the issue is with the handbrake lever arm bit, where it fits into the cylinder is a little narrow or something due to the casting of the new cylinders which stops the whole setup going back together properly. has anyone else had this same issue? ive tried to get other aftermarket brands and asked for advice from several brake shops but no luck. any advice would be great

update for anyone interested
i got a helpful guy at a parts place to get in another brand, the guy got in one only to check and it was good, so he got another of the same brand from the same supplier and it was no good same as the first batch i have. he will get me another now. so if anyone is planning on doing your rear brakes soon looks like there might be a batch of badly cast cylinders out there, so check when you buy

I had the same problem - Just used a tiny die grinder to make the casting fit the pivot pin on the lever arm.
There was plenty of meat in the casting to do so and wasn't too hard. Was quicker than taking it back and waiting for a possible better replacement. JMTC dp You can view topic.
