Any of you race car owners interested in some Billet Master cylinder braces?

I have a design in my folders that I have only made one of for a customer in California.. Would anyone else be interested in these?

Cost $75.00
Shipping $5.00 US - $12.00 AUS

-image for reference- mounts on RHD cars too.

The price is good and you always do nice work. I'm not trying to be contrary but what advantage will this offer for us? I've driven race cars with flexi brake mounts and the 1200 doesn't feel like one of them. Again just asking as I honestly don't know.

On similar but different note if you were doing up brackets so we could move the stock master cylinder inside the car that's something I would be interested. You,can buy the Wilwood or Tilton ones cheap enough but I don't really need the balance bar. I'd just like to move it for carb clearance and I'm sure other guys would to.

Master Cylinder Brace

Could you give me a visual example? I can make just about anything.

I am looking over my Coupe and I think a whole new mount rack because I don't see any room to squeeze remote MC's in that sheet metal box.

Benny,

I will machine one up and install it on my car so you can see how it looks.

Matthew those are the Wilwood assmeblies I was referring to. The are not really expensive but after you buy a pair of master cylinders and fab up the bracket to mount it in a production car the price adds up. For someone like me who doesn't really need the brake balance bar the Wilwood and Tilton set ups are a bit of overkill.

What I was looking for is something that uses the stock pedal but has a bracket and linkage that would allow the stock master cylinder to be turned 180 degrees (mounting it on the driver side of the firewall) so people like me who do not weld would have a bolt in solution for moving the brake master. I would like the brake master out of the way so that I can build a proper air box. Even with the flat slide carbs the master is still semi in the way.

The steering post bracket unbolts

Here's one that's modified

I reckon there's enough room to mount it on the side of the bracket, if you make the pedal loop around and down

1. master cylinder mount bracket added to the top of the 1200's steering colum support

2. weld an extension to the top of the brake pedal

3. make a rod to connect the master cylinder from the brake pedal

Use remote filler caps like these Datsun F10 caps which fit most Datsun master cylinders

Rallytwit,

I will see if I can design a bolt on kit. No welding or cutting. It may require a CNC machined brake pedal though. I will definitely make this a product for the LHD cars.

supafatto,

I will get on the cylinder brace this weekend and have an image for you guys to peep at. I have function on the design but it still doesn't appease my visual side.

Matt thanks, whenever you get around to it just let us know.

I have a friend who does amazing race car fabrication (does stuff for my Formula car) and we looked at moving the masters but at the time it was rather prohibitive, solidly 8 hours of shop time, of course I didn't realize the stock pedal hanger was a bolt in.
