Hey guys,

im looking at rolling my fender lips and have been watching a few vid's on youtube.I don't need to heat the fender's up as my rolling shell isn't painted,i'll be buying a roller of ebay as it's only $75 where as its $150 per guard plus call out fee's to get someone to do it.Is there any other tips I should be looking at?

I did mine with a baseball bat (no heating) and it didn't even crack the paint. See Rolling the Guard

If you take it slow and patient it's easy to do it right

I used a guard roller for my front guards, it will pull the guard as it rolls the lip unless you are able to keep some pressure on the outside of the panel in the area the roll is pushing against.

My only suggestion is to use a good anti rust paint on the back of the lip first, other wise its very hard to get paint down inside it after its done - plus it will be freash so it will just flex as you do it.
Only other tip is - SLOW and steady - it should take around 10 passes +
Because the Guard is not perfectly semi circular you have to adjust the extension for the extremities of the arch.

I have rolled using bats, shock tubes, rubber mallets and the fender flaring/rolling tool. I found the mallet and heat gun technique, rolled the lip well enough and did no paint damage. I got similar results using the specialty tool, if you take your time and heat the paint you can get a good roll in less time.. only negative about the fender/roller tool is you may have to unbolt some suspension bits to fit the tool if you have a lowered car with little travel.. the rear end of my 1000 was a bit of a pain.
This is before any rolling happened but i am scrub free at the same height. :)

Would it be a good idea to put some grease between the two plate once finished ? To prevent rust..
