Hey guys,

Can anybody shed some light on where to get a hold of some windscreen locking strips, or is there an option of using some from another car?
I have found some for $250 which is pretty pricey..

Datsun 1200 doesn't need locking strips on the front window. Instead you can use the chrome trim

You can buy a brand new front seal for less than $250:
* $189 AUD needs no filler or chrome moulding COUPE
* $178 AUD takes chrome moulding UTE/SEDAN
* $32 AUD Filler strip - black rubber

Thanks ddgonzal.

Can you expand on this a little further?

I thought the chrome strip was the locking strip?
Are you saying I can use a rubber mould and no chrome strip?
If so, can you shed some light on where I can source this?

Thanks

There are two types of seals:
* Seal that uses a locking strip of rubber
* Seal that uses the chrome trim

Scott's Old Rubber (out of Australia) sells both types of seals, and they sell different types of locking strips. The prices and link to their web site is in my previous post
