Ok guys so i decided to search out the reason for my brake light earth fault(it stays faintly on all the time, even when handbrake is off). In doing so I have opened a can of worms to say the least. The main wiring loom in the dash has been hijacked all over the place with wires not leading to anything?!?! anyway, being my b122 is a jap import and had auto choke standard, I got it with mikuni carbs though, is the wiring connected and causing an earth fault since i dont have auto choke aymore?? Auto Choke wiring can be disconnected. It won't cause an electrical problem

Just leave the wire disconnected which is marked "to auto choke heater" in the diagram

If the light stays faintly on when the IGN key is OFF, it suggests a 12V fault

If the light stays faintly on only when IGN = ON, try troubleshooting the earths:
* Unplug wire from handbrake (in between the seats). If light goes out, the switch is not adjusted correctly (or is faulty)
* Unplug choke relay connector. If light goes out, the relay is faulty or mis-wired. Leave it disconnected -- it's not needed unless you have an electric choke

1976-up choke relay is on the right strut tower (behind the battery)




Unplug the connector from the relay -- and see if the light goes out

Ah that relay is for the auto choke, I did wonder what it was for. Ill try disconnecting it and seeing what happens.
Im going to go through the rest of the wiring to get rid of bodge jobs and possible fire hazards. Ill try and post some picks for you guys to see lol

I've never seen an early B122, let alone a Wiring Diagram for a 1988. But on the late B122 (1990-1994) #7 is also Yellow with Green stripe. It is the BRAKE lamp
