I had an ebike for a bit, they can also be a good training tool. I doubt I ever would have got into my old commute of ~40kms each way without an ebike to get me going.

You can get anything from a built bike to kits to components to build whatever you want or imagine. Ebike's are every where in China so there's plenty of Chinese suppliers selling bits. The Chinese eBays are good sources, if you're really interested there's a forum for eBikes, endless sphere (https://endless-sphere.com).

I would definitely buy a conversion kit for an existing bike in the shed
or the endless available on ebay for under 100 you can get some serious
all alloy dual suspension rock or downhill beasts if you are patient.
