Kev Rowley (one of the first to swap CA18DET into Datsun 1200) said this:
* Yellow/Blue - Low fuel light
* Yellow - Fuel gauge sender
* White/Purple - Positive for fuel pump
* 2 blacks - Common together & earth

Colors may vary in different years and in Japan R31 vs locally assembled R31

In the R31 the tank is HOT and the earth/ground is switched on and off. It is wired through safety relay and will stop pumping if engine stops running (ex: in a wreck). It also has two speeds, but you can run the pump at regular speed no worries

Think he means the actual fuel feed and return line im not near one out at present but if you undo the 6 8mm/phillips head bolts and lift out the whole assembly you will learn pretty quick which is which. If its accessible of course.

So have you sorted out all the piping and hoses. I have an R31 tank as well in my ute and have the fuel filler sorted, but haven't got around to connecting/blocking off the pipes on the evap tank next to the fuel filler and the additional hose connections on the R31 Tank.

Thanks ca18det1200

I have the feed and return hose sorted from the tank only, the fuel filler pipe work is done

The rest yet to be done and worked out........ Pity the Wiki doesn't have a conversion diagram for us to follow.

Unless I'm blind.

Anyway, I am just working on bits and pieces around the car as I only get an hour or so here and there.

Surge tank kit is all made up, and the R31 LSD diff is shorted and installed.

Handbrake cables to be done, Can anyone advise who can extend and shorten these types of cables? I am located in QLD.

Thanks very much everyone.

When I get time I will get some before and progress photos all together and do a Topic on my ute.

Thanks again.

I used Control Connections in Sandgate to modify my handbrake cables.
