Provisional driver, you have to get ur learners first then u get ur red P's for 12 months then ur green P's for two years b4 getting ur full licence...on ur reds u can only do 90km/h and green is 100 and there are huge restrictions on what car u can get like no turbo skylines etc...

That'd have to be in NSW wouldn't it? A QLD provisional driver has the same speed limits as the rest of the drivers. Same time period for the licencing. The restrictions on cars that you can drive fall under a size and a power to weight ratio limit. I think my cousin said that there aren't any limits when you are on your learners licence though, most likely as you can't drive unsupervised.

Yeah in nsw the rules are heaps more strict than qld can't speak for the rest of the states... L drivers can drive what ever they're being taught in because it's the licenced driver that's teaching them that get in the sh*t for them.

Interesting. Here in the US you have a learner permit for 6 months. Only drive with a licensed observer above 21 years of age (in most jurisdictions) and once you have the license you can have whatever daddy will buy you (I think there are a few jurisdictions that have some form of graduated system, but not many). Not uncommon to go to a High School and see Vipers, Corvettes and Hummers in the parking lot (car park). Not saying either is right or wrong, just interesting the differences.
What is the accident rate among 16 year olds in Australia?

Well back to cars then it's a car forum... there was a few bad accidents in nsw one with a P player with a car load of friends and his girlfriend that was pregnant and they all past away and that happened as they were trying to pass the laws, not to mention it was one of the fastest r34 skylines in Australia at the time and he was borrowing it from daddy, that happened about 300m down the road from my house they hit a telegraph pole at 200 estimated and tore the car in two. There was pieces of his friends that landed two doors down from my house and they ran out of plastic to cover them up, pain for P platers but there for a reason.
