#21 Re: A15 turbo manifold build

Started again from scratch

Cut the twin webber manifold in half and swapped LHS to the RHS and vica versa
to get better exhaust manifold clearance and a smaller plenum size.
This revelation came to me at 3am in the morning

Thats more the spirit, no use paying for those high end manifolds
when something like that will give the same power.
Glad to egg you on so you had another go at the weber mani
I hate seen people spend 1.5 to 2k for a 4cyl manifold its so
not datsun in spirit but each to their own.

Ha Ha Ha - Yeah. After a few false starts , its starting to move along.
I'm really happy the way both the inlet and exhaust manifolds worked out.
It should be a fun drive when its done !

The only thing that could have been better to achieve that angle
was to angle cut the inlet wall by making the plenum a little longer
at the front and have the throttle flange welded on to have it bolted up.

like this but a little longer and opposite angle etc

D - I looked at doing that with the first throttle body I was going to use but this 52mm one is off a Suzuki TL1000 motor bike
(small , light and compact) so its only a flex hose coupling (support will off the front of the head)
It has an added bonus of a built in injector boss which could be used for secondary injection ( water , meth , etc )

What pistons are you using? They look like flat tops. Tell me more...

I forked out for forged pistons from SPS in Melbourne.
Slight dish 9.2:1 ( turbo on E85) not cheap
Will possibly do another down the track and be more experimental
