Hi,

I am looking for a chart that shows the different characteristics of Dellorto DHLA emulsion tubes. Anyone know of a chart or a description of the DHLA Emulsion Tubes?

Thanks, Peter

Hi Peter if you Google Dellorto tuning you should get the imfo you need the UK sites are full of pdf files.
Iused Google to get all imfo for my webbers so i could tune them to E85 fuel on the dyno.Greg.

I couldn't find a chart like there is for Webers, but I found some DHLA information

The emulsion tube is a mix device (mixes air & fuel together) It basically controls the A/F mixture at all except near-idle and full-throttle. It takes fuel from the Main jet and air from the Air Corrector jet, then adjust this mixture further depending on airflow & acceleration

The Weber book says: "The controlling factors of the emulsion tube are its diameter and the location of the emulsion holes...the numbers do not follow in any particular sequence which would indicate the applicable characteristics"

First choose:
* Larger cylinders: smaller numbers
* Smaller cylinder: bigger numbers
* Running alcohol (E85) instead of petrol affects the initial choice

Cylinder capacity Suggested tube
250-325 7772.8 A12
275-400 7772.7 A12/A15
350-475 7772.6 A15
450-575 7772.5

Fine tuning:
* Low rpm enrichment/Slight acceleration enrichment: holes toward the bottom
* Low rpm leaning/Slight acceleration leaning: holes toward the top
* High rpm leaning: More holes
* Low rpm enrichment: smaller diameter tube

Thank you!

We are getting closer to our goal of 180hp out of a 1300cc. This is our first attempt with an asymmetric camshaft and I like the results, but it does not jet anywhere near any of my other engines. [I do know we really need to do EFI to stop all of the Dellorto/Weber tuning, but for this year I will have to compete with carburetors.] Our best tuning so far is with 7772.5 and 7772.6 emulsion tubes.

Peter

190 HP out of a 1300 cc A 12 is possible Reg Cook in New Zealand had one that made that much power he showed me it when I was over there one time to by some Works Nissan parts from him.

It was injected and had seen a lot of development but it did prove the venerable A series is capable of 190 HP legally in a 1300 cc class hillclimb car
a link to Reg Cook Motorsport history page Reg is an absolute Nissan datsun motorsport legend well worth looking at
