Datsun 1000 trans info?

Hi, i have a datsun 1200 with a manual trans in the car right now but i have a datsun 1000 motor and manual trans laying arround..I want to know how the 1000 trans is good ? Is the ratio is better/closer ?

Its the same ratios just weaker in many ways.
Very efficient though the 1k box has thinner gears
and the engine only 3 main bearings :)
If you use a 4.3 or 4.5 rear the combo is surprisingly
peppy and 59mm stroke vs 70mm means it revs very smooth.
recently I drive a 660cc kei truck daily with 5.1 rear
& a blast for what it is. Gets to 60 or 80 very quickly
and gets about 20-22km per 1 litre but its 3 cylinders
with 12 valves and twin cam all alloy bike like engine
that redlines at 9000rpm but can go higher.

Also, the 1000 gearbox uses a bell-crank clutch instead of a clutch cable. Might not fit into a 1200?
