Hi guys

wondering if anyone has an L-series pump laying about for the higher volume oil pump mod

http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... le=High_Capacity_Oil_Pump

according the to wiki, the z-series pumps are the best option, although a l-series should suffice.

can anyone hook me up?

Thanks Vixen

i have just sent him an email about them.

Did you remember how much you paid for your pump and how much extra does it give?

Can't remember cost was back in 2010. They are used with an oil cooler. Pressure up to 85psi but it's the volume that you are after which both have kept my 1300ccmotor together and reving to 9000rpm for the last 7 years. That motor is now retired to make way for it's big brother.

I got an email back from Peter....

he indicated that the Japanese are mad keen on this stuff, and pay massive bucks for them.

He is going to have a look and get back to me. Dont think I can justify the yahoo Japan prices for stuff when I can hack up a hybrid L/A series pump and get similar results.

Just remembered you really need the early 1200 motor with the alternator on the left side or you have to make a new alternator bracket as the cast one fouls the top of the hi volume pump(a pain).your best idea might be to go with the cut and shut 2 pumps if you can find the right ones.

Thanks Vixen.
The alternator position is variable at this stage, It will go where-ever it fits in the engine bay after everything else is in there.

If Peter comes back with a reasonable price tag for the fancy pump, ill roll with that as its a bolt in operation, but failing that its a A/Z series pump mash up.
