Hi all, been ages since I've been on the site. I need to pul the A15 apart again to replace the Delta Cams regrind shaft, lobe went flat again. I'm wondering if I can buy in the US a brand new cam from Nissan? All the old links I had seem to of dies - nissanparts.cc, cant remember the Vancouver BC dealer, can anyone recommend a Nissan dealer that'll chase old parts?

Thanks,Evan

Younker Nissan -- at least in 2013 -- had a veteran parts counterperson who could find Datsun parts. I was told that Campbell Nelson Nissan also was helpful

Look like the good A14/A15 (6000 rpm) cam is still available 13001-H6200

The 5600 rpm A15 camshaft is discontinued 13001-H9800

The higher RPM Nissan cams were only available in USA via Nismo, and appear to be discontinued

Also get new lifters (or have the old lifters refaced) then use cam assembly lube and run the engine for 20 minutes at 2000 rpm (don't let it idle until the lifters/cam lobes wear in)

Hey david, how the balmy Hawaiian weather :)

how'd you figure out they're available, you have a website that shows available vs. discontinued?
It looked like Tomei still sells A series cams, other makers sell aftermarket stuff for for the L series motors and Z car stuff but A seems hard to find. I thought this time I'd throw a stock cam in. The delta regrinds seems to fail, I adjusted the rocker to 12 thousands when warm, ran it for about two mins and rechecked it , was .016 - .017, gained 5 or 6 in minutes. cam/lifer face grinding away....

Yes, the websites of various Nissan dealers show availability. Click the links in my previous message to see which are marked "discontinued" and which are still available. If the part is superceded it will list that too
