There is a guy in Yahoo Auction that does them
but around 2000usd plus shipping from Japan.
No cores required he does and supplies all
fully reconditioned and excellent finish.
Jesse streeter can find him and arrange it all.

D is that a complete gearbox or just the front case?

If it's a complete gearbox that's a bargain. The 280zx mid close gear set works well as it's the same as the 56 series 4 speed mid close. I use a mid close 4 speed box for probably a decade and was very happy with it.

Please post a link to one of his auctions for this. I can't seem to find anything on Yahoo Japan.

Sorry, that's an automatic

Why bother with the 5-speed? Brand new Nissan 6-speed is only $1800. It is a true direct-fifth gearbox + overdrive

cut-n-shut 6-speed for A-series
Open in new window

* Z33 "350Z" 2003-
* 2005- six-cylinder Frontier, Xterra, Pathfinder
* Infiniti $1700

1st 3.794
2nd 2.324
3rd 1.624
4th 1.271
5th 1.000
6th 0.794
Rev 3.446

eBay $800 used

Pay a local machinist $300 to graft your 4-speed bellhousing, or fabricate an adapter plate

Dave I don't know about your neck of the woods but I don't know any any machinists that will do it that cheap . I've got an auto bell housing and wanted to use a Miata or Ford type 9 gearbox but finding someone to make and adapter for less than $1000 - $1500 was near impossible.

Rallytwit that is a complete box all rebuilt and with the clean welded and cut and shut, all parts supplied and agreed its excellent value.

I cannot find his yahoo auction site or remember his tag but he has been on for many years and I always admired his work when I ran across his auctions sometimes.

He often used the Altezza 6 speed to fit many engines and the rb25 box for SR

A shame but many people pay more for less than what he offered as a complete package
and often with flywheel and custom clutch kit to boot.

Usually 2k but sometimes 2.5k depending on setups he had and sometimes lowered
prices as he was obviously accumulating stock and sometimes just wanted to move it.
