Stripped the new 1510cc motor after huge catastrophic let go.The only things salvageable is the cam&followers.
Will be looking for donour anA14 to start again.
Rebuilt the 1322cc motor for now but need the extra cubes to keep up with the 16&2lt cars

how about A14 crank in that 1322cc?
short rod ratio but Im sure it will be fine if all else is right?
eg. crank journals machined down, rebalance crankshaft etc?

Have put a A14 crank into an A12 with std bore =1289cc but had to machine 3mm off the top of the piston was ok for a street motor but would not suit what I need in comp ratio to run the E85 fuel I run.
A14 crank with 77.5mm flat tops still only get you 1453cc
The motor the blew up had 79mm flat top fly cut pistons =1510cc

I will have to put a lot of thought into what I am going to do this time as the 1510cc motor I had to mortgage the house to build it haha.

Thats serious block damage there, never seen mains
suffer that stress before!
You could JB weld some sleeves on an A12 machine to
take them with interference fit, take it to 79mm
water jet 8mm steel plate for a ladder brace to
hold down some steel main caps.

The mains were OK it's just that the rod got jammed between crank&block.(bang).I think a little end let go firstor a big end bolt

The engine wasn't reving hard the block only cracked because the rod got jammed between the crank and the block something had to give. The bores and 3pistons are ok even thedamaged piston top and rings are ok.It was a very slow blowup a lot of smoke and steam but no mess under car.

D no there's no marks or damage in bores or pistons. I am thinking the new ARP big end bolts failed as both on number 2had both snapped and were in the sump.all bearings were unmarked.
