Any reason why the crankshaft bearings for Caps 2 and 4 have an oil passage hole? They don't line up with any other oil passageway. The originals are the same.

I think it lines up with the oil hole in the crank to help feed oil to that side of the shell

Might be a crap trap for solids out of the oil gallery? Most bearings need reliefs to let wear debris out.

The top portion of the bearings are fed oil from the main oil gallery. The half of the bearing contained in the cap is only oiled indirectly, by the film of oil that comes from the top half. That hole in the bearing is not needed, maybe it's there so they can use 2x bearing pieces instead of a unique top & bottom half

The latter. Every extra unique part is extra cost/ complexity so it only goes in if it has to.
