Yep its weird but uses datsun 1000 door handles and other era bits from other dattos

that's no J engine, looks like a forklift 4-banger maybe H or D engine

Yes seems the later or larger vans had the R16 or H20 option
but they also had the J like in the manual a 1150cc 53hp bruiser!

smallest J was the J13 (1289cc). It seems the 1150 uses as D11 engine. Here's another photo here

D11 may be small but not risky. If geared appropriately it can haul big loads. 1138cc and 21kw but soon to make more powerful engines!
