Greetings!

I am looking for the pads that go between the leaves in a leafspring pack for my 120ute and 1000 coupe.

They are both a 2" wide spring, the 1000 has a circular locater, the 1200 square.

I have drawn a rough picture with measurements:

Can I sikaflex something close in?

Thanks for any leads/advice,

Mike

I made pads out of polypropylene from a 5-gallon bucket lid. I epoxied a "button" on top to fit into the depression that's in the leafs. Stayed put too

New rubbing blocks are sold, not the exact Datsun designs, but similar, or in full strips http://google.com/search?q=leaf+spring+liner out of poly/vinyl or Teflon. Others have used Nylon or Molykote or just purchased Nylatron already done up that way. UHMW polyethylene and SLIP Plate are two others. Some are dry-lubricant coatings

Nissan recommended Molykote 7 (Nissan 44003-7S000) not as a replacement rubbing block but as a leaf spring anti-squeak lubricant

My main concern was retaining an alternative and you have a proven real world experience.

Thanks for the quick response DD.

Any idea how often I should inspect for wear? I was only under there to do Shackle bushes etc when I noticed them in the first place!

Good find. They look like same shape as the Datsun 1000 coupe ones
