15A engine
The 15A was a variant of the 10A/12A/13B family. The trochoidal dimensions were identical to the 10A/12A/13B engines, but the rotors and their housings were thicker (13B rotor housings are 80mm wide, 15A was 90mm wide).
This engine was more practical than the 21A because it used a lot of components that were readily available for the 10A/12A/13B family.

Displacement per chamber was 737cc (vs a 13B's 654cc). It produced 135hp @ 5750 rpm and 196Nm (145 lb-ft) @ 3500 rpm. The engine was developed around March 1973, but was halted around 6 months later due to the oil crisis. There is one complete engine and several parts kept by Mazda (I believe they are at the Mazda Museum in Hiroshima).

21A engine
The 21A was totally different engine to any other rotary-it shared no parts with the 10A/12A/13B family.
The "trochoidal dimensions" were bigger than the 10A/12A/13B/15A engines (this is illustrated by the size of the 21A rotor shown below) and the rotor housings were also thicker (13B rotor housings are 80mm wide, 21A was 85mm wide).
As it shared no components with the 10A/12A/13B family, this engine was far less practical to produce than the 15A would have been.

Displacement per chamber was 1046cc (vs a 13B's 654cc). It produced 180+ hp and (estimated by torque per cc compared with the 15A engine) about 280Nm (210 lb-ft). The engine was developed around August 1972, (and stopped for the same reason as the 15A) 21A parts are even rarer than 15A, with only one complete engine and a single unmachined rotor.
(Note, the "official name" of this engine was actually the R-II 21A)

22A engine
This was a planned variant of the 21A engine. The rotor housings were designed to be thicker by another 10mm (giving cost savings by using 21A parts). Capacity would have been 1169cc per chamber (vs a 13B's 654cc - almost double!).
Power would have been in the region of 200hp. Unlike the 21A, however, this design was only ever made on paper.
If the engine was made and carried to the same point of development as the 13B family, based on the power output of the 13B-REW a 22A-REW engine would make a stock 455hp!

The widened rotors on both 15a and 21a had some awesome torque figures which the 10 12a and 13b dont

the 15A would have been an awesome R100 Le Mans choice!

re: Mazda's Excellent Killer ... I thought there were some races between the PB110 Excellent and Mazda Capella Rotary. But apparently the Excellent wasn't raced until 1972 when TSA was changed to 1300-1600cc at which time rotary was in the placed in TS-B class where it battle the Skyline 2000

so Excellent PB110 and Mazda rotary did not race together?
