A BRE L18 race engine weighed around 109kg down 10 from stock
thanks to flywheel/clutch, knifed crank, titanium rods, forgies
titanium retainers, valves and cleaned up block castings.
Good thing is a sleeved Sr20de bottom end weighs 24kg around
14kg less than an L16 bottom end of 38kg. Bore spacings and
water jackets are easily matched then you have a 95kg hybrid
SRL20 that using lighter Keihins no dizzie as SR has modern
independent oil pump and still chain driven probably lighter
than an A14 and FIA L heads sometimes come up for under 1k usd.
