tired of my twin 40 DCOE's falling out of tune everytime I drive my Datsun. So I am looking to buy a manifold + down draft weber.

There are a few stores in Australia where I can buy them new, but they want like 1K for the kit (weber, manifold and adapter if needed)

Just thought I would ask if anyone has anything to sell so I can save some $.

I also have two spare 40 webers, dismantled at the moment. Would be happy to trade them.

My existing A15 head is heavily ported with 10:1 compression, so I will likely need to bore out any manifold I acquire so they semi-match.
As far as I know any stock A15 manifold would be OK, with an adapter plate which I can buy.

thanks

Rowland Manifolds in SA do a perfect manifold for downdraft webers
see the Rowland pics

you could also do a cheap Megasquirt and Ford Falcon TBI setup
all very simple and never go out of tune once its done.

Awesome - that cheap Megasquirt and Ford Falcon TBI setup looks so good but I just don't have the time and ability to get these things now-a-days with family and such. I have asked Rowland for a price + delivery on the manifold (those manifolds look like they have much higher airflow than the place I was considering buying the weber + manifold kit from).

Xmas present to self - ability to drive datsun more :)

Thanks D

I bought the manifold from South Africa - it looks like a beast. Still on the hunt for a 38 DGAS carby or a 32/36 DGAV
The water galleries on my A15 head are all blocked off so not sure how an automatic choke would go without those...

Dont overlook old Aisan Carbs fitted to Toyotas, some were 38mm as on
Landcruiser FJ40 and retrofitted to Celicas for more oomph.
I got one off a celica with a 1.94L 3tc and that thing was fast and loud!

Perfectly well, Weber auto choke doesn't require water manifold
* 32/36 DGAS is a water temp choke, uses separate water feed (not through the manifold)
* 32/36 DGES is electric choke just feed it 12V from ignition coil. That's what I used it was flawless

The water passage manifold is to properly atomize the air/fuel mixture, nothing to do with choke operation. If you block those passages you may find it runs poorly at light throttle at times. But if the carburetor is jetted rich it isn't much noticeable

ordered a refurbished 38 DGAS (w/ electric choke) from in Australia, along with all the bits I should need to get it mounted up. The guy supplying it has dyno'd worked A15's before so he has a general idea of jetting so he will change jets as he feels apt before shipping.
Cant wait to get it going. Will post pics!

thx for the replies
