Front indicators + parking lights -- the stereotypical combo light

When shopping for new ones on eBay there are different types

Type H10 -- the original lamp
Open in new window

In Japan-market they were all-red/orange. The clear + orange came later for export markets

If they are double-reflector type, those are late-model 1200 (Japan-market)

Type G10 from September 1973. Before that the ute used the H10 type. Totally interchangeable

And if they have rectangle connectors instead of individual bullet connectors, those are B210 and not direct fit for B110 (though you can modify the wiring) THESE ARE OFTEN SOLD ON EBAY as "Datsun 1200" lamps

1200 has Centered reflector. Off-center reflector are from Datsun 510

take a closer look at the original. Was Datsun designers merely limited by rules (all orange) or did they choose superior looks?

All body styles use the same front combo lamp

H10 lamp was used January 1970 to September 1973

* Marked 'IKI 3001 R' and 'IKI 3001 L'

These are the bulbs:
* 26717-89920 inner 23/8 watt
* 26261-89900 outer (small) 3 watt

Type 1034 turn-signal/marker bulb

And the secondary one, Type 158 -- same as the Square Dash bulbs

Same shape/format (T10 glass with miniature wedge base W2/T5/W5W) as the lower power Type 161/159/194 but those are less bright

What is the purpose of this secondary bulb? Does it have anything to do with this?

As these Japan-market Datsun Parts Catalog diagrams show, all 1200 use the same lamp including:
* 1970-1971 B110
* 1972 B110 (facelift)
* 1971-1973 B120 ute/truck until Sep 1973

The only thing I knew was -- unscrew the lens and change a burned out bulb. As I was looking at these photos a lot of details. First of which is angled-ness of the lamp. It slopes

Most are IKI brand. Koito was the secondary supplier but I haven't seen any marked Koito. IKI was a brand from ICHOKOH Industries, LTD., which are still in business. Formed October 1968. Ichikoh history -- including many Datsun 'firsts'

H10 lamp assembly includes the 1) indicator/winker light and 2) the parking/marker/position light

Bevel is needed to match the slope of the front apron panel (valance panel)

The lens is the part that covers the bulb. I think it may be fresnel lens to shine the light mostly forward

marked 'IKI 3001 L' and 'IKI 3001 R'

The front lamp gasket (packing) wraps around the metal body of the lamp. Ya gotta slip the lamp body into the gasket. That way it seals both to the front apron and seals the lens

only two part numbers: H10 though 1989 and G10 after 1989. possibly interchangeable
