Lads, Has anyone here know if a VH45 has been put in a 1200? Nice quad cam v8 from the 90's... I really want to build my ute with a v8 but want to keep it in the same family..

big fan of the 1uzfe and the vh but dont recall one in a 1200
would be a very nose heavy conversion yet have seen a 1uzfe in a 1200.

There is also a Nissan OHV Y40/44 v8 like a windsor but lovely alloy heads
and nissan rocker covers as I saw fitted to a 180b sss back in the 80s.
It had reground cams, shaved mild ported heads, ford modded headers and
holley it made close to 330hp. They are a compact unit vs twin cam v8s.

There was one I saw in a 1600//510 in Nagoya in 1998 with all the front
waterpump assembly removed instead running electric water pump, dry sump,
mechanical injection and electromotive distributorless ignition.

I always wanted a Y v8 for a 120Y

Bit wide in the heads
Abandoned a Torana project cause it wouldn't fit
Seen one in a 300ZX Z31 which looked good
VH41 I believe has the alt in the V which is better too as required less room

Torana!!?? Tony Knight makes anything
from 450-650hp form iron holden v8s
quite amazing what he can do from old
OHV v8 engines. The Y44 Nissan v8 could
probably make 500+hp form his work.

mate like the a series, smallblock and old volvo B series engines
pushrods for the win in my opinion. sure a 4cyl with twin cam is
also a great choice but 2X capacity or 2 x L4 eg v8 then a simpler
ohv v8 like the Y40 or Y44 tidied up in a datsun leaves more room.
Ive changed timing belts on the 1uz and vh and never want to do that
again, specially a headgasket or other ancillary on it or around it.
An ohv v8 sitting in the engine bay can be a nice nugget sized beast
especially 4-4.4L of Nissan Luxury v8 usually made to tug a whale.
