Hey everyone long time since I’ve been on here but I’ve recently joined the Datsun club again with my latest car being a modified 180b. Of course I took it to the drags haha but anyway the rear drive hub copped a hiding and now I’m left with a parked up datto. The rear end is a r31mini spool, custom axles, and 240z hubs and brakes. The part between the axles and the wheel hubs has let go and now I’m chasing the rear assembly to get this thing back running. My terminology is probably far from right so feel free to educate me if this makes no sense. I’ll add some pics to show what I mean. I’m located brisbane Queensland and hoping someone not too far from here will have the part I’m chasing. Thanks in advance hope everyone’s staying safe out there

Do you mean the axle shaft (CV shaft)?

It’s not the cv on the axle but the part that joins to the cv and then goes to the wheel. Looks like a metal flange and has a big bolt on the back side of it. I think it’s a drive hub

That picture is a 510 rear suspension. I didn't realize the 240Z was so more advanced

Found this diagram from Nissan e-Fast for the 240Z rear axle parts. It uses the R180 diff instead of the R160 of the 510. R31 Skyline Japan-built with RB engine used a larger unit called R200

Maybe #6 "Rear Axle Shaft"? Commonly called the stub axle

Or #15 "Companion Flange" which fastens to the axle shaft with a large lock nut (#12), and the CV/Driveshaft bolts to it with small M10 nuts (#20)

#18 is what I've heard called the CV shaft but is officially called the "Drive Shaft Assembly"

There seem to be two versions to all these parts
* Manual transmission shafts
* Automatic and 2+2 shafts

google search: 240Z stub axle

That’s the one the companion flange has snapped. Legend, now to find one locally
