Hey all just a quick question, how do I remove the dash of my coupe. Like can someone guide me through each of the steps right up till you can't pull out no more dash, As I just wanna take out the white surround mainly so i can remove my broken tacko and install my Autometer tacho in there. Also I wanna clean up the dodgy wiring.
Thanks heaps
Cheers
Damo

It's not dificult to remove de dash but you need to remove all the dash get to the tacko , the dash commes pratically in one piece , then you separate de surround .

bye

To get the grey bit out that surrounds the tacho and radio etc, you need to first... umm...
REmove the fan and vent controls (Small screms underneath them.
REmove the radio. (Dunno which radio you have would be different for different ones)
Now pull out the wiper/lights/choke thingys so that they are on and now grip the stem behind the knob of them and no push the knob in and turn and they will come off.
Unscrew the cigarette lighter from the back. and then disconnect it (Make sure you don't earth it)
Now use pliers or fingers if you can to unscrew the little silvery bits that are aroudn the choke/lights/wiper things.
There should be two screws (I think) behind the dash screwing it into place, I can't remember exactly where they were though, because I never put them back in.
Ummm yeah then that should be it. Just do everything in reverse, just make sure that you put hem in the right spots because it's annoying when you mix the lights and the wipers up. Even if you put the right knobs on them you will just whack the wipers on without thinking if they are where the lights should be.
I think thats it....
I jsut typed this as I was thinking though so be prepared for many typos and things that don't make sense...

don't forget to disconnect the speedo & the wiring,or you'll only get it out part way.and take the steering column surround off for some extra space too.

if i remember right, to take the whole dash out was easier for me.
1. undo the wire harness connections. right side near firewall.(US- next to wiper linkage)
1.5 Remove the glove box and door.
2. Undo speedo cable from speedo.
3. Undo turn signal connector and ignition switch connector on steering column.
4. Undo turnsignal and hazard flasher wires.
5. Undo heater linkage, 2 cables, and heater motor wires.
6. remove defrost ducts
7. undo door switch connectors at each end of dash.
7.5 remove anything extra that YOU may have added.
8. remove 3 screws on top of dash, 2 screws under the left and right side, and the two screws under the steering column.
It should slide back toward the steering wheel and then out the passenger side door. You could also remove the steering column cover to give you more room.
Its easier that it sounds. If you have added more stuff to the dash, don't forget to disconnect that too.

yeah, forgot about the speedo and wiring plug on the back. Also I think there are indicator bulbs or something as well.
Told you I didn't think it all through properly!

anyway, on a slightly related matter. If my speedo wobbles below 20MPH / 40KMH, how can I fix this? I have tightened the speedo cable on the gearbox and on the back of the dash.
Any ideas?

Thanks for that boys, I got the dash out, it was easier then i thought, but I have wires goin everywhere (stereo and alarm) so for the first bit I was goin in blind.

But once I got the 2screws holding the dash in, out, it just popped out, my tacho looks SWEET in the cup :)

Cheers
Damo

So it fit behind there properly? Cool.
Much better than having it hang off the A pillar IMO.
Got any pics of it?
