With the new plugs, new HT leads and carb cleaned.
I have managed to get the engine to now idle at 10 degrees @ 900rpm. Decent throttle response.
Once battery has been replaced I would be able to take it on the open road and play.

Road test is highway and driving up over the hill near me.

Update! Its been awhile.

Swapping out bench seat for two Renault Kwid seats.

The adjustable rails had to go. The seats were too high with them in place. So I had to strip the seats down to the brackets.
I still keep the reclining function though.

I was able to use the existing bolts and holes in the chassis to bolt my frame in.

Moved the handbrake to the middle so I can stop impaling my leg every time I get into the cab.

Next on the to do list is swapping out the Chinese carburettor for a VW carb.
I am using a 5mm aluminium plate to fabricate the adapter for the carburettor.

I came across a nice set of 13 inch rims to give the bee some style.

I didn't realize the break lever was on the side, but now i see it in the wiki photos

newer B140 (earlier 1980s photos show it in the middle)

Images re uploaded to previous post.
This weekend I plan on bolting in the seats and sorting out the cabin.
Next on the list is to do the glove box fuse box mod. I have already moved the fuse box from right hand side to the left side.

Yes the brake looks good between the seats. And looks painful when fitted on the side where you get into the cabin

I had to look up the Renault Kwid. I haven't seen a Renault in probably 20 years. The last one I saw was a Fuego, they stopped selling Renault in USA maybe 1987? They were always kine of rare but I still remember the Dauphine, the Renult 5 "Le Car" and the Alliance

That is interesting. Keeping the French out the USA.
These small cars in South Africa are very common.
This is an example of the car the seats would of came out of.

This weekend I plan on welding the studs for the drivers seat.

That looks like a Nissan Juke, might be a shared Nissan-Renault platform

The Kwid seats seem the right size for a 1200/1400 and are sporty looking

It has been awhile.
Seats are in and comfortable.

6 months ago I did a carburettor service and replaced all the gaskets. Fast-ward 5 months later and the gaskets are leaking and the accelerator pump 'boot' has perished.
So I weighed up replacing the carb with another Chineses copy or popping on the VW carb I had fresh in a box from my first car.

Swapped out the carbs and to make a custom accelerator cable bracket.
After a 120km road trip to work I was happy with going the VW carb route

I also have these babes to put on.

Still researching my tire options.
180/60/R13
175/70/R13

I Also need to replace the shocks as I am scraping the exhaust when going over speed humps.

Next is the installation of a gearlock so I can go to the shops with it.

Let me know if I need to re-upload the photos.
