In 1978 came a special package B210, the 160Z
![]() A product of Nissan-Datsun South Africa, this sports coupe featured yellow paint with stripe and spoilers ![]() It had all the coupe goodness including round-gauge dashboard ![]() Based on the JDM Sunny Excellent 1600, it came with the L16 1.6-litre SOHC engine ![]() Now about that paint scheme. It is same/similar to the 280Z "Special Decor Package" offered in the USA the year before (1977) for paint code 411 cars - The 280-Z ZZZAP

That 160z rear end is amazing, really want one with VR38DETT in the rear
massive wide guards for 15 x 12 wheels on the rear and 15 x 10 at the front. I can only dream :) atm of saving a 120y coupe with rusted sills, floors and easier to sit the body on another chassis as its way too much rust. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fc/B210sunny.jpg

The rear panel and the Skyline-style taillights make it stupendously great!!!
Speaking of the wheels, they are 13x5.5J. All your talk of 10" wide wheels reminded me of that little Canadian Here are some photos of a 160Z spotted in Cape Town ![]()

big 330.2 mm wheels! this is no 120Y
if i recall correctly this is Pedro 160Z in Portugal. Although more recent photos at AJA show the front badge as a Datsun Y, so maybe a clone 160Z? The 160Y had the same L16 engine as the 160Z

dearth of photos from back in the day, but here's two from CAR magazine, July 1978
features: * black-painted bumpers * DATSUN Z front badge * indicators are B210 export style (not JDM or PB210 style) * mexican-stripe cloth seats

The wikipedia article Datsun 160Z has some detailed photos of a Cape Town 160Z ... possibly the same car after restoration
It has the same features * Large fog lamps * silver c-pillar trim but it also has the grille badge

I like the 160z more than the Z
There is an excellent with floors and chassis rusted Ive considered buying BUT the only way would be to cut the top off like a cake and place it on a chassis. If I go that far it would be VR in the rear wide bodied https://external-content.duckduckgo.co ... 3DoVgHaDz%26pid%3DApi&f=1

Yes, never thought about it like that, but dare say i'd rather have a 160Z than a 260Z
or maybe a 140Z which came in colours other than yellow. like the race car in your link. Could it be converted back to surfboard duty? You can view topic.
