Does anybody know what the difference is between the A15 12200-G3400MT crankshaft and the 12200-H9700 AT crankshaft?
I believe MT stands for the manual tranny and AT stands for the automatic tranny.
Is there a difference in the bolt spacing for the flywheel or the flex plate or is there a difference in the size and the weight of the counterweights?

I believe they are substantially the same. I can't recall ever hearing about any differences. G34 is the revised A15 model code and H97 is a B310 1980-1982 model code. It denotes some change, but it may be minor

The "AT" and "MT" may be something that an eBay seller tacked on. On the other hand if Nissan sells them this way, then the AT version may not have a pilot bushing installed. Or something. Just guessing. Nissan "service parts" sometimes have a few letters at the end of the part number

OK, Ive checked the official source. According to the Datsun Parts Catalog there are two part numbers

12200-G3400 CRANKSHAFT ASSY
12200-H9700 CRANKSHAFT ASSY

Both are for the same years. The G34 is for A15 MT applications and the H97 is for A15 AT applications. So AT or MT is not in the part number itself

The Catalog indicates that the crankshaft comes with two other parts:
* 12200A PLUG-CRANKSHAFT OIL HOLE (quantity four, various part numbers)
* 32202-18000 BUSHING-CRANKSHAFT
these parts are the same A12, A13, A14, A15

now im wondering if they actually put a pilot bushing in all of them. It doesn't actually state that it comes with it, but the drawing shows an inclusion. But maybe that's the H97 vs G34 (with or without the bushing)? Hard to believe they'd be including one with the "Automatic Transmission" part

Thanks for providing this extra information on these A15 crankshafts.
In summary, both cranks are basically the same when it comes to the actual bearing journal specs with the exception that the H97 probably does not include the clutch pilot bushing otherwise they are completely interchangeable in either the A14 or A15 block.

That is my guess: completely interchangeable

The A15 crank will only fit a "G34" block A14 (1980-up). The earlier A14 blocks do not have the relief cutouts machined in the sides to take the larger A15 crank throws. Also some G34 for A14 may not have this modification (there are two G34 part numbers, one for A14/A15 and one for A14 only)
