Looking at oversize pistons and found a Sterling set available. Does anyone have experience with this brand of piston? This company seems to have been around for a long time. The dish appears to be bigger vs the stock Datsun piston. Seller has no idea of the dish volume. Plan to use the H89 head with the bored out block. Also have a GX head but that may be too much for my MG Midget project. Compression is a guess not knowing the dish volume. Can I use the same piston rods from the stock pistons? Any information is much appreciated. Thanks.

I think those are a 12cc dish but they are also may be 10cc.

What bore size do you need?

I managed to get 77mm pistons from Rockauto that had a 8cc dish.

Block is in good shape but honing won't get my ring gaps within specs. One size up or whatever is available. What brand does Rockauto carry? Maybe I shouldn't be concerned with any particular piston brand?

A15 only uses one rod design, so you are good there

Factory pistons come in three different dish sizes:
* early Canada A15, unknown depth
* early 2.8mm
* late 5.4mm

H89 heads were used with offset-dish pistons with a deep 7mm dish. Offset-dish design was also available with 6.5mm dish
