As previously reported, the price of A-series kit is getting seriously expensive in Japan

This unique "Sunny" aluminum valve cover is up for auction with a starting price of 70000 Yen (462 USD). So far there have been no bids

It's the first one I've seen with a Sunny logo. It has a 'Datsun' oil cap, also fins like some others but the shape squared-off like the billet ones. Very unique

Thats a beautiful item, wished all new engines didnt get the Klown Schwabbs and Gretta Dumberg carbon emissions look.
Considering cars make up 0.03% of the worlds carbon emissions, consumers are unfairly targeted as always.

I wonder what the final price will be for this item at the end?

still a day to go on the bids

the same seller has this "plain valve cover prototype, limited edition" note it is for a "high-cam" possibly meaning it is a tall cover for large roller rockers?

Same price as Sunny cover and looks like the same casting. Which do you prefer?

Can be had in Australia locally. I picked one up a couple of months back.

I don’t think the plain one is any different from the others, other than it’s not been on a mill to machine the ribs., just polished. Interesting spin as being sold as a limited edition with less machine time theoretically

The plain one looks like on some old english engines like HILLMAN HUNTER
which was the most reliable car by far in the masses of junk from the UK.

The ribbed one is the candy

Beautiful alloy covers! I prefer a two-piece flavor, as whittled up by Ratsun.net's resident CAD/CAM genius, mattndew76, for my race engine. It's a bit taller (to clear roller rockers, if I can ever find them) and the two piece design makes those 'do-to-the-point-of-OCD' pre-race valve lash adjustments a breeze. No oil running down the side of the block, no scraping off the old cover gasket, no fiddling with getting that decades old NOS cover gasket to seal. Matt machined male/female mating grooves into the top/bottom halves to assist locating and sealing them. I liked the 'as-cast' finish over the highly polished version and I had him machine the top smooth so I have a place to apply a Powered By Briggs & Stratton decal.

mattndew76 stuff is the best anywhere
Matt could be making his own billet brake calipers
and hat for rotors for other makes than for us even
here in Japan would kill the Suzuki Jimny aftermarket
it is so mundane the products from Japan these days.

Matt if you ever check in again look at these non ventilated for 2018+ Jimny LMAO
