Not a 350 cu 4 cylinder but halve one with 1/2 the cc!. Yes they are race engines but wanted to know if anyone else knew about them as its hard to find info on them except on a mag article with one in Oz which Ive been also told about.
If you are going to put a chev put an alloy one not one that weighs as much as the car. It makes sense to get power to weight in straights or and handling.

Never heard of those engines ... the slant-4 and V-4 must be race-only.

Talk about overdoin it!!!!
Do you guys in the US get the halve chev 350 4 cyl as used in speedway or the other halve chev 350 v4 both at 3.2 ltr I believe and said to fit without big mods.
Id love the V4 scat chev but would not complain of the slant 4.
Does anyone know the engines Im talking about???
Theres gotta b someone?

Yep, I've done it. If you look in the photo gallery under engines you'll find a couple of pics with a supercharged 383 Chev. The fire wall was moved back and the tunnel modified to fit a t10 4 speed. It has a narrowed Ford diff in it. The engine sits nicely in the hole but you'll need some block hugger headers to clear the steering box. We made a motor plate to mount the front of the engine to the chassis rails. The strut towers, front chassis rails and rear leaf hangers were seam welded and the front struts were hybrid Nissan strut tubes joined to Series 4 RX7 turbo discs and calipers which matched the 5 stud pattern on the rear. We tied it all together with a roll cage which ran from the front to the rear spring hangers. It understeered a little but I reckon if you fitted an alloy Gen 3 it would be an absolute rocket ship with safe handling as well. The car is now fitted with a screamer 302 and is being prepared for gravel sprint work.!!
