At least datsun people have a bit of personality and a bit of originality.

ie. our cars are all different and are not the exact way that some poofy british engineer designed them.

Its a car for a teenager who can't afford any better. You're trying to salvage disposable technology. Datsun 1200's were not meant to keep alive..just to use til they fell apart. Geez....at least the Triumph people have some class.

I gave you the reason we have datto's and we like to talk about datto's. (we like modifying cars).

And then I gave you the reason I don't have a TR6. (they are slow, boring, and i forgot to mention ugly).

If I was into collectible classics then I would probably have a slow, boring TR6. But since I am not I have 2 fast, modified datsuns.

I can accept what you're into and I don't go to retirement homes to start sh*t with TR6 fans. So don't come onto our website and start sh*t with us because you deserve everything you get.

i see that most of the responders are from Australia....Hmmm, the Australians I met in the Philippines seemed normal...Guess you can't really tell til you see what their interests are. My God man......comparing a 1200 to a TR6 is like comparing a Yugo to a Rolls Royce...In other words, there is no comparison.

Steve, look I think its great that you are into cars and motorsport I truly do. My passion is to see anyone get into motorsport and have fun no matter what the level. But to come into this forum and bag 1200's, you would have to expect the reaction you got. I wish you luck with the TR6 and would love you to post some times that your car does at local tracks.

True collectors don't cannibalize and bastardize their cars. You quote stats from the stock TR6. Like I said, TR6 people keep things original, because thats the way the vehicle was intended to be. They don't put bastard motors in their vehicles...give me a sweet singing 2.498 liter inline 6, with that throaty exhaust roar from those twin pipes. No Datsun ever sounded that sweet. Next thing you'll be telling me that the Datsun 510 , 610, and F10 were good cars...LOL...this is fun.

Umm I dont think the Brady Bunch was a very good show, but the only thing that a 1200 would beat a TR6 in is an oil change. I get out plenty, and I've seen far more TR6's than Datsun 1200's. Like I said, the only good Datsun was the 1600 Roadster. Now that baby had style and class. I wonder what they modeled that after? Could it be the TR6????
