The general American public was buying cars like the GM Vega and the overweight Ford Pinto, yeah that's right almost forgot how bad it was back then. Talk about rust buckets! oh yes..i do remember the weak heater system in the 72 1200 sedan....you couldnt even defrost the damn windows with it. It was also a dog on a cold engine. I remember taking my life in my hands stepping on the accelerator, expecting results, and then having the thing stumble and bumble to get up to speed. What else???? well let me think.....it was such a small motor, that if one plug went bad, you were dead in the water...and i also remembered it was a bitch to put speakers in because everywhere you looked to put one, you ran into metal framing. Then there was one thing i really actually liked on the car.....You could wind out 3rd gear to about 60mph and it flew like a freaking rocket going into 4th.

you guys should preserve the Datsun Roadster, now there was a car with at least a little bit of class. When i had the 1200, all i ever dreamed about was getting an MG Midget..it was about the same size, but at least it was a convertible.

how much are those tires????? size 155SR12's should run about $25 apiece....LOL

i'm thinking that the under dash Panasonic 8 track player , that i installed in my 1200 sedan, would be the one thing I would want back. Other than that, i dont really miss it too much. It does bring back some memories...but I am SO surprised to hear such vocal supporters of a car that no one paid any attention to from 1972-1980.

i dont think so...every 1200 I ever saw had ripped seats and the owners said relatively similar things. Maybe first owners are more picky, and way less tolerant.
