I went down to my local repco store last wednesday and ordered a head gasket for my ca18det, after a lot of searching they located one and said it will be in on friday.
I take the day off work go in to pick it up on friday and when I saw it it looked too big,(it was huge and steel) and it also had pushrod holes in it, I quieried bloke behind the counter to make sure it was the right one and after three phone calls (one to Qld) he assured me that it was the rite one, telling me that the pushrod looking holes were water passages.
So I drove half an hour home to find out that it was way way too big. So I went down to my local Jap importer and showed him the new gasket and he laughed and said it was off a Isizu diesel truck and definatley not a ca18. even though it sain ca18 on the packet. was I pissed off.
So down to repco I went again only for them to make a nother phone call and then tell me that it was off a ca18det.
So then I started jumping up and down and getting a bit ####ty,
they then decided to refund my money.
The thing that pisses me off the most is as soon as I go out the front door they would put their feet up and say " oh well....next please"
I had entered the datto in heathcote on the weekend but It didnot get there because of them.

Hey go_the_datto,
I work at Super Cheap Auto. Well what can I say?? REPCO? Hmmm. Look, whenever I order parts or look something up for a customer I double check it is correct. There is nothing worse (recalling personal experiences in other shops) than getting a part that doesnt fit or is for a completely different car. Besides all the paper work we have to do for an incorrect special order (hahaha) it pisses the customer off something chronic. Some people dont have the kowledge of some motors (ie. what an A12 head gasket, or even a CA18 gasket looks like) so unfortunately that throws a spanner in the works. If we ever #### up we like to look after the customer no just fob them off.

I feel sorry for your inconveinience, I hate the feeling when you cant get something done when you want it.

I know I shouldnt go on about repco but the last time I went in there and asked for a low pressure external rotary fuel pump to go from the fuel tank to the surge tank they (repco) told me there was no such thing made for an efi car there is only "in tank" low pressure pumps.
So I went over the road to the super cheap and they were a great help.
They had exactley what I was after and it was $90, an external low pressure
pump and it works a treat

Rock on Super cheap!!!
